0 Days, 2 Hours, 53 Minutes to HBP

Man, I thought for sure that J.K. Rowling would have something cool on her website when the clock stuck midnight in England. No such luck! Oh, well.

I tried to talk Marcus into accompanying me to the Tattered Cover this evening. Also no such luck. Probably has to do with the large amount of children that will be there and that he and Mike are going to Winter Park to mountain bike tomorrow.

0 Days, 8 Hours, 26 Minutes to HBP

In just a little over 8 hours, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will officially be available. Of course, I have to wait longer because I elected to order it online, but so be it. I'll just pass the time more quickly by getting two day's worth of dough done so I don't have to go anywhere near work on Sunday morning. Then I can not be interrupted in my reading by my having to go to work. How's that for a plan?

I know I've been a little silly with the whole countdown thing, but hey, it got me to post every day so that I would use the little pictures I made!

There was a link to this comic called Sore Thumbs today on Mugglenet that had to do with someone's HBP countdown frenzy. It was pretty funny!

1 Day, 7 Hours, 56 minutes Until HBP

I'm stuck at work with nothing to do again, so I'm listening to Harry Potter music on my iPod.

Amazon is getting the books ready for shipment:

Subject: Your Harry Potter Order Is on Schedule

Hello from Amazon.com.

We're happy to let you know that we've begun preparing your order for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" for delivery.

You should have the book(s) in your hands no later than 7:00 p.m. in your time zone on Saturday, July 16. Most books will be delivered by U.S. Mail, either with your regular mail delivery or in a separate, special mail delivery. Some orders may be delivered by UPS.

Because our carriers are delivering hundreds of thousands of books on that day, we do ask that you wait until 7:00 p.m. before contacting customer service if you haven't received your order.

Although we're not requiring a signature, we still recommend that someone be home to accept the package, as the driver may not leave it on your doorstep if they don't feel it's safe to do so.

You'll receive our usual shipment confirmation e-mail after your package leaves our fulfillment center.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com, and happy reading!

Oh, man...I hope it arrives early in the day. I'll go nuts if it shows up in the late afternoon!

Why Indeed

Anybody who knows Marcus IRL knows he is bitterly opposed to marriage. Sadly, as the years go by, the people we know are one by one proving his assessment of the whole institution to be correct. Anyway, we were looking at some shirts that were brought in to have stuff printed on the back for some trivia contests they have a bars. One of them said: "Why even bother with marriage? Just find somebody who drives you nuts & buy a house together." If there had been one in Marcus' size, I would've grabbed him one. Priceless. If you want to see what the shirt looks like, I found a picture of it at a site called "What On Earth."

2 Days Until HBP

I'm getting antsy. These next two days can't fly by fast enough for me. I know I'm going to devour the book quickly and then I'll probably have a HUGE LETDOWN when I realize it'll be an extremely long wait for book 7.

I was on the Alivan's web site (makers of fine handcrafted magic wands) today. I was sorely tempted to purchase a wand or a house scarf when I found out a shop here in Littleton called Sage Moon carries Alivan's Harry Potter merchandise. A cooler head prevailed when I reminded myself that I want to start a business and move away from this trailer park dump. Perhaps by the book 7 launch party, eh?
